UPDATE: I goofed on the size I ordered. What you see here is size 7-8 laid over size 13-14. I do apologize! I have updated my review to five stars for this outfit.ORIGINAL REVIEW: The top looks awfully small. Yes, it is described as a crop top. Maybe TOO cropped? I cannot find a size label inside the top or the pants to verify whether I was sent the right size. I laid this top over two other tops of the same size (age 13-14) from the same manufacturer, and those tops are wider in the body and in the shoulders. You can see the difference in the photo. Obviously the others are longer in length because they are not crop tops. I just don’t know what to think until my granddaughter can try this on in about a month from now.The color named “pink” is more peach than pink, and true to the pictures on Amazon. The color is very pleasing.The checkerboard pattern on the sides of the pants and top is a cute accent. It is surface-applied similar to an iron-on T-shirt applique, so it is probably a good idea to wash these inside-out to avoid abrading the checkerboard over time.

Size seems accurate, but the shirt moves oddly
My daughter is nearly 6yo and on the petite side, I ordered this outfit in the size up (7-8) because we have had experiences of items made in China running slightly smaller than we want them to be. In children’s clothes, I would always rather they be slightly too big than too small, since they will be grown into eventually. Plus, with the cotton content of this set, I’m not sure they won’t shrink in the wash.This set arrived looking exactly as pictured, the color is even accurate. Based on my child trying them on, I can say that they do run true to size as this set is a bit large on her. The waistband could be comfortably rolled 3 times and still cuff the ankles to make them fit the length. The shirt is a slightly different story, while a bit wide the length is appropriate, until the wearer raises their arms, it bears the ENTIRE midriff. While I can’t deny I wore similar styles in my teen years, this style is entirely inappropriate for my 6yo daughter. This would be an acceptable shirt only if there is a camisole or something underneath to keep her covered up as she is moving around.For only $15, this is a nice cotton outfit that can be worn as a pajama or for tumbling at the gym or on the playground. I can recommend this item, with the caveat that you may want to put something on underneath the shirt for the sake of modesty.

The price is great for a two piece cotton outfit! A bargain. We love the purple color and it’s really soft. My daughter is 6 years old, she’s tall and thin weights 37lbs, and it fits really well on top but the bottoms are a little bit long. She rolled the waistband 2x and it fits great. The top is a little bit cropped, when she raises her arms up her tummy shows. But if you had the waist band up high I think it would cover your tummy.
